Quran Reference To Dua
Surah Al-Baqarah 2:186: “And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.”
Surah Ghafir 40:60: “And your Lord says, ‘Call upon Me; I will respond to you.’ Indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter Hell [rendered] contemptible.”
Hadith Related To Dua
Sahih al-Bukhari: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “There is nothing more dear to Allah than a servant making dua to Him.”
Sahih Muslim: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Dua is the essence of worship.”
Jamiat-Tirmidhi: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever does not ask from Allah, He becomes angry with him.”
Sunnah Related To Dua
Raising Hands: It is a Sunnah to raise one’s hands while making dua, symbolizing humility and submission.
Facing the Qiblah: Facing the direction of the Kaaba (Qiblah) while making dua is also a recommended practice.
